3 Simple Ways to add a signature to WordPress blog post

As a new blogger, I was wondering how bloggers have this cute handwritten signature in all of their blog posts. Something that adds some personal touch to their posts and make us feel that there is a real person behind the blog we’re reading. So, I’ve decided to check it out.

Since I’m not into coding yet (I am terrified to ruin my website 🙂 ), I looked for some simple ways to add a signature to my posts, and luckily I found them.

Now, I know that not everyone has a Photoshop / illustrator at home and that is why I have one method in which I’m using a free online tool called Pixlr.

So, would you like to learn how to add your signature in the most SIMPLE way without coding? If so, then let’s begin!

How to add a signature to your blog post?

There are two options to add a signature to your blog posts:

  1. Write down your name or signature on a white piece of paper.
  2. Use a script font in Photoshop / Illustrator.

Add your written signature to your post

  • Write down your name on a white piece of paper and take a picture of it with your phone.
  • Save your image on your computer.
  • Open the online Pixlr app in the internet and open your image.
  • Go to Crop (C on your keyboard). Mark the area you’d like to crop and press Enter.
  • Go to Adjustment –> Exposure and increase the exposure until you’re happy with the result. Then press Enter.
  • Pick the Wand tool (w) and click on the white background. The wand tool will select all the white background except for your signature, and then press delete – this step will delete your background. If there are background spots within your signature, just select them again with your wand tool and press delete.
  • At the end it should look something like this:
  • Go to File –>Save –>and choose the PNG format which will give your image transparent background.
  • Now all you have to do is go to the end of your post –> add image and choose your signature image.
  • After adding the image, choose your image size –> Thumbnail or Medium and that’s it!

Add a script signature in Photoshop

  • Open a new document. I’ve created 500px/500px.
  • Choose the text tool (t) and write your name.
  • Pick any script font you like. I chose a free font called Sidaghis.
  • Than go to File –> Save as –> and choose to save in PNG format (for transparent background).
  • Go to the end of your post –> add image and choose your signature image.
  • Choose your image size –> Thumbnail or Medium size (whatever suits you) and that’s it!

Add a script signature in Illustrator

  • Same as in Photoshop. The only difference is instead of Save as, go to File –> Export as –> and than choose PNG format.
  • Go to the end of your post –> add image and choose your signature image.
  • Choose your image size –> Thumbnail or Medium size (whatever suits you) and that’s it!

I hope you found this tutorial easy and helpful.
